Sharon Blatt, a former Detroit Public Schools art teacher and watercolor artist, began creating a dollhouse over forty years ago to reflect her home and the activities of her family. The dollhouse rooms were fashioned after rooms in her home, including sewing and art supplies as well as items showing the hobbies of her family. Around the same time, she began making personalized pillows and quilts, leading her to start Sharynne Originals, a company that is still in business today. Saks Fifth Avenue ordered samples of her pillows and quilts for many of their stores, featuring them in a children's gift catalog they put on the counters of their stores throughout the country. Her home was the center of all this activity, becoming the basis and inspiration for My Home//My House//My Pillows. The book includes actual detailed photographs of the house and dollhouse rooms, and tells the story of how it all came to be.
